Early Spring “Sun-Dried Buds” Wild Pu-erh Tea Varietal

These little white buds come from wild-growing Camellia Assamica Dehongensis varietal. It is a sub-varietal of camellia that grows in the tropical area of Dehong and Lincang in southwestern Yunnan. The buds are picked in early February and then sun-dried. The flavor is fresh and a little fruity somewhat similar to a good white tea but more complex flavors. The brewed liquor is whitish and clear, and there is a hint of fresh pine needles in the aroma!

Early Spring “Snow Buds” White Tea of Yunnan

These “Snow Buds” are grown in Ning’er county of Simao, and picked in the very early spring. This is picked as a pure bud tea and then carefully processed through frying, rolling and air-drying. This a unique tea bush varietal called 雪芽#100 (Snow Bud #100) and features large size leaves and buds and prominent downy buds.

The taste is fruity and sweet with a touch of grass (umami) to counter its easy-going sweetness. Perfect white tea for aging! Will change and develop honey malt sweetness with time. Just keep sealed in an opaque pouch or canister!

Wild Tree Purple “Sweet Ya Bao” White Tea

This is a special varietal of Purple “Ye Sheng” Wild Tree Tea. It literally grows wild and this “sweet” sub-type is the most rare of all. It took 5 people 18 days to collect and process just 32 kilograms of this incredibly unique tea.

The processing is very simple and involves brief withering and hot dry air exposure to halt the oxidation. The resulting tea is incredibly unique and is like a floral bouquet drenched in watermelon juice. The floral character is something like rose both in taste and smell. This tea is totally unlike any other tea I have ever tried, and not only is it unique but it’s very complex and goes many many steeps.

This White Tea is first flush spring harvest! It is fresh and fruity in flavor. The infused brew is very white and laden with lots of hairs from these buds.

This is a special tea made from Jinggu Yang Ta Large Leaf varietal tea (Camellia Taliensis). The tea is picked in the early spring, wilted slightly and then dried with warm wind tunneled through the tea until it is dry. The taste is sweet and soupy with a sugarcane and lychee fruit aroma!

Imperial Grade Silver Needle White Tea of Jinggu

Our first flush of spring Imperial Grade Silver Needle White Tea was picked in the first week of March from the tender buds of Jinggu area “Da Bai Hao” varietal tea trees.

The “Da Bai Hao” varietal is a natural hybrid of Assamica that is unique to the Jinggu area of Simao (in Yunnan).

Silver Needles White Tea (aka Bai Hao Yin Zhen) is a special tea where only the tender shoots (the bud) are picked, lightly wilted, pan-fried briefly at low temperature and then allowed to dry naturally (sometimes with the help of fans). This relatively unadulterated style of processing lends the Silver Needle tea a fruity and sweet taste and aroma that even with a year or two of age will still taste thick, viscous and full in the mouth.

High quality hand-picked and processed silver needles (pure bud) white tea from Da Si village in Feng Qing county of Lincang.

Slight cinnamon spice aroma when brewed. Thick and sweet. Very lubricating mouth-feel that stays in the mouth after drinking.

Brewing tip: Use 90c water and keep infusion times short for the first 3 to 4 infusions. Can be infused 7 or 8 times!

Ai Lao Mountain Jade Needle White Tea

A unique varietal of white tea grown in the high altitude mountains of Ai Lao range in the eastern part of Jing Dong County (Simao Prefecture).

The tea processing is something in-between white and green tea. It has a strong, thick aroma and hints of sugarcane and wheatgrass.

The leaves are extremely fine and, due to expert processing, the small hairs on the leaves have been preserved.

Jing Gu Yang Ta Yunnan Bai Mu Dan White Tea

This is a special tea made from Jinggu Yang Ta village area Large Leaf varietal tea (Camellia Taliensis). Made from first flush spring tea this White tea is delicious and fruity. First infusions give the impression of freshly cut green grass. Later infusions yield a floral and fruit smell and taste.

Simliar material to Yue Guang Bai, but different processing makes this tea unique.
