The aroma when brewed at first reminds us of cured cannabis flowers and orchids. The taste is thick and pungent, with sweetness and little or no astringency. The tea has a nice body and seems to expand in the mouth. The after-taste is noticeable and long with a soothing lubricating effect on the mouth and throat.

Anji Bai Cha 安吉白茶 is referred to as Anji White Tea, but in reality it’s a green tea. The taste and aroma is incredibly unique and complex, but that of a green tea.

It is called a white tea because the unpicked leaves are more white than green due to the low amount of chlorophyll. This varietal is relatively new and “discovered” in 1982 in Anji County of Zhejiang Prefecture. The original mother tea plants were cloned and cultivated in Anji county only. Our offering was harvested from these cloned original varietal cultivars and was grown within Anji County.

This is a very sweet and thick tea if brewed correctly. We recommend using 75-80c temperature high quality spring water and short steeping times to get the most from this lovely tea! We chose this particular grade because we felt it was tasty, took a good number of steeps and had a good price to quality ratio! We hope you’ll agree!

Harvested Late-March into Early April

This is a lovely and special tea. Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong Black tea from Fujian has been stuffed into a fresh King Orange and then cured together. The black tea has obsorbed alot of the citrus taste and it’s both tasty and subtle. I prefer to break in half and brew the black tea and the orange all together. If you prefer less citrus taste you can remove the tea from the dried rind and brew separately.

King Orange is a small green orange which originates from Vietnam but is now grown in Southern Yunnan. It is known in Vietnam as . It is tasty to eat by itself and although rather small and green it’s sweet and pungent.

Each little “King Orange” is roughly 12 grams (+/- 2 gram) and comes individually wrapped in hypo-allergenic paper.

Ingredients: Orange Peel, Black Tea

Please note: Over time the oils from the peel may form a white frost on the peel. This is not mold. We won’t take returns or offer refunds for that. It’s a feature not a flaw!

This expertly fermented black tea was crafted using a wild tree purple leaf varietal from the Yong De “Da Xue Shan” (lit. Big Snow Mountain) area of Lincang prefecture. This wild tree varietal grows wild in the mountains at an altitude of 2100-2300 meters.

Ye Sheng “野生“ varietal aka “Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze var. assamica (J. Masters) Kitam.” is a primeval varietal that pre-dates Camellia Sinensis var. Assamica and is a naturally occurring non-hybridized varietal. Its potency in cha qi arises from its unadulterated nature. It is naturally bug repellent and grows wild in the forests of Yunnan at an altitude of 1600-2200 meters.

A very lightly wilted and processed tea, the green in the leaves is still present and the tea soup is a golden yellow color, much different from the Dehong Wild tree black tea that we also offer. There is a hint of fruit, chocolate and barrel aged rum in the taste and aroma. An exquisite experience!

An incredibly rare tea, only 70 kilograms in total production!

Mid-March Harvested
